That is how I found Rebelle years ago, and I fell in love with it immediately. Watercolor brushes were the first I had to check out in the new Rebelle 4, and I am happy to say that they are even better! If you are working in the traditional way, for example Watercolors on Canvas, this will be absolutely the same — BUT: with the possibilities of an App! Realistic water based colors and textures on your pc, or via Airplay on your iPad. That will bring the fun back! Simply the best!
The impasto effect is wonderfully dynamic and, more importantly, varied in appearance. Too many other apps try to rely on very linear repeated brush stroke effects but this one seems much more real and intuitive in its approach. If you want a digital art software that provides results as close to real-world painting as possible, Rebelle 4 should be on your radar. In comparison with Rebelle, others are too complicated and universal to be useful for drawing and painting in a fresh way. Rebelle is in this aspect a lot better.
Especially joining the wetness of watercolors and the impasto texture of Acrylic and Oils gives me a lot of pleasure. And Gouache brushes! And dry media brushes! And various ways of applying paint on a canvas! And StreamLine! The impasto effect is very impressive, the brush strokes look dynamic and natural. And the real fun begins when you combine all these tools together to achieve artistically impressive effects. For me, Rebelle 4 represents the joy of digital painting.

It can wet and dry the layer to add that realistic look you are aiming for to the drawing.
Furthermore, it enables you to experiment with different paper textures and colors, providing various blending options, opacity adjustment capabilities, and a complete color palette you can use to define new hues. Rebelle transfers watercolor painting into the digital environment, enabling you to enjoy creating art without getting your hands dirty, not to mention spending on canvas and watercolor paints.
While its feature set is, indeed, generous, enriching the brush collection and the paper library even further, setting custom color palettes, or adding predefined presets to apply to an existing image would really add to its value.
To use it to its full potential, it is advisable that you take a look at the integrated tutorial, which displays information regarding all the interface sections, available tools and how they should be used to obtain the desired result.
Use digital painting instruments to obtain real watercolor effects, with color blending and drying, creating artworks just like you would on canvas. What's new in Rebelle 4. Rebelle was reviewed by Mihaela Teodorovici. Load comments.
